How to Transfer a Domain from GoDaddy to CloudHost

To transfer a domain to CloudHost, follow these simple steps:

  • Log in to Your GoDaddy Domain Details:

  1. To get started, enter your customer number and password, and click Sign In.

  2. Click the domain name that you want to transfer to CloudHost.

  • Ensure That Your Administrative Email Contact is Up-to-Date

  1. Log in to the Domain Details page for the domain name that you want to transfer.
  2. Click the Domain and scroll down to Contact Information and click Edit.

  3. Check that your Administrator contact email address is correct. Uncheck Use for all Contact Types (If the contact details for the different account types are different).

  4. Scroll down to Administrative, enter your current email address, and click OK.

 

  • Unlock Your Domain Name:

  1. Log in to the Domain Details page for the domain name that you want to transfer.
  2. Scroll down to Additional Settings, click on the Domain to check whether the Lock is set to on or off. To unlock the domain name, click Edit.

If the domain locking is already off, skip to Get your domain’s transfer authorization/EPP code.

  1. Select Off and click Save.

  1. Log in to the Domain Details page for the domain name that you want to transfer.
  2. Scroll down to Additional Settings, and click Edit to lock Domain.
  3. Navigate to the bottom, and click on Get authorization code.
  4. The domain’s Administrator email address on file will receive the authorization code.

  • Transfer Domain

  1. Log in to the Domain Details page for the domain name that you want to transfer.
  2. Click on the Domain, scroll down to Transfer Domain Away from GoDaddy.

This will take you to the transfer out checklist page, scroll down to the bottom enter where you are transferring to (CloudHost) and you can leave the “Why are you transferring?” box blank if you wish.

In a few minutes you will receive an email from GoDaddy containing your transfer authorization code.

  • Begin your domain transfer through CloudHost:

Now your domain is ready to be transferred. Register an account with CloudHost, provide your domain name and EPP code, add to cart, configure your domain and place an order. Then wait for some minutes for your order to be approved.
