RubyGems is a package manager for the Ruby programming language. It provides a self-contained format in which developers can distribute Ruby programs and libraries.

To install a Ruby Gem
The Ruby Gem Installer feature allows you to search for, download and install a Ruby Gem.
- Log into your cPanel account.
- Under the Software and Services section, click on RubyGems.
- The RubyGems installer interface will then load.
- To find a module to install , enter a search term in the available text box and click Go.
- You can also click on the Show Available Modules button to view available Ruby Gems.
- The interface displays the following information for all of the displayed Ruby Gems:
- Module Name — this displays the name of the Ruby Gem.
- Description — this displays a description of the Ruby Gem.
- Actions — this displays the actions that you may perform for that Ruby Gem.
- Click Install next to the Ruby Gem that you wish to download and install. You can also view a Ruby Gem’s documentation by clicking Show Docs next to that Ruby Gem.
- If you already know the name of the Ruby Gem that you wish to install, enter the name in the Install a Ruby Gem text box and click Install Now.
Installed Ruby Gem(s)
The Installed Ruby Gem(s) table displays a list of all the Ruby Gems that exist on your server. For each installed Ruby Gem, the table displays the following information:
- Module Name – the name of the Ruby Gem.
- Version – the version number of the Ruby Gem.
- Actions – contains the actions that you can perform on each Ruby Gem. The actions are:
- Update: to update the Ruby Gem.
- Reinstall: to reinstall the Ruby Gem.
- Uninstall: to uninstall the Ruby Gem.
- Show Documentation: to read the documentation of the Ruby Gem.
