How to disable Mod security for your domain from cPanel

ModSecurity is an Apache module that helps to protect your website from various attacks. It is used to block certain types of web requests thereby helping to prevent possible attacks.  However, on some occassions, legitimate requests may be blocked by ModSecurity, so having the knowledge of how to disable it is advisable. The ModSecurity interface on cPanel allows you to enable or disable ModSecurity for your domains. In this article, you will be shown how to disable ModSecurity for a domain from cPanel.

 

How to disable ModSecurity

  1. Log into your cPanel account.
  2. Navigate to the Security section and click on the ModSecurity icon under it.Screenshot (141)
  3. The ModSecurity Domain Manager interface will be displayed.
  4. ModSecurity, by default, is usually enabled for all the domains in your cPanel acount. To disable ModSecurity for all the domains, click on the Disable button.disable
  5. And if you wish to disable ModSecurity for a specific domain, locate the domain and click the Off button corresponding to it.disableone

 

How to enable ModSecurity

  • To enable ModSecurity for all your domains, click on Enable.enable
  • To enable ModSecurity for a specific domain, click the On button in front of it.enableone

Simple and easy! You can now enable or disable ModSecurity for one or all of the domains in your cPanel account.
