As mentioned in our previous articles on Legacy File Manager, it is quite similar to the File Manager most people work with. The choice of which one to use is up to you.<\/p>\n<p>We believe you know your way around the interface. But if you don&#8217;t, click <a href=\"http:\/\/cloudhost.com.ng\/blog\/navigating-the-legacy-file-manager-on-cpanel\/\">here<\/a> to know more about navigating through the Legacy File Manager. Now let&#8217;s get started.<\/p>\n<h3>To Create a new file\/folder<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Log into your cPanel account.<\/li>\n<li>Click on <strong>Legacy File Manager<\/strong> under the <em>Files<\/em> section.<\/li>\n<li>Click on the <strong>Create New File<\/strong> or <strong>Create New Folder<\/strong> link in the <em>Legacy File Manager Toolbar<\/em>.<\/li>\n<li>Enter the name you wish to use for the new file or folder in the text provided at the top right corner of the page.<\/li>\n<li>Click <strong>Create<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>To Upload files<\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Click on the <strong>Upload Files<\/strong> link in the <em>Legacy File Manager Toolbar<\/em>.<\/li>\n<li>On the next page, you will be expected to browse through your computer and select the files you wish to upload.<\/li>\n<li>If there are any files in the directory that are named the same as the files you are uploading, checking the <strong>Overwrite existing files<\/strong> checkbox will automatically overwrite (replace) them.<\/li>\n<li>Once you are done with your selection, click <strong>Upload<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>To Rename a file\/folder:<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Click on the name of the file\/folder.<\/li>\n<li>In the <em>Properties Toolba<\/em>r, click the <strong>Rename File\/Rename folder<\/strong> link.<\/li>\n<li>Enter the new name you wish to use for the file\/folder in the available textbox.<\/li>\n<li>Then click the <strong>Rename<\/strong> button.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>To delete a file\/folder<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Click on the name of the file\/folder.<\/li>\n<li>In the <em>Properties Toolbar<\/em> click on <strong>Delete File<\/strong> or <strong>Delete this folder and all files under it<\/strong> in the case of deleting a folder.<\/li>\n<li>The file or folder will be moved to the trash section immediately.<\/li>\n<li>The files or folders in the trash can be restored by simply clicking on them in the trash.<\/li>\n<li>To permanently delete files or folders, click on <strong>Empty Trash<\/strong> icon.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>To copy a file\/folder<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Click on the name of the file\/folder.<\/li>\n<li>Click on <strong>Copy File<\/strong> or <strong>Copy This Folder<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>On the next page, click on the folder you wish to copy the file\/folder to.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>To move a file\/folder<\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Click on the name of the file\/folder.<\/li>\n<li>Click on <strong>Move File<\/strong> or <strong>Move This Folder<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>On the next page, click on the folder you wish to m0ve the file\/folder to.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>To download a file<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Click on the name of the file.<\/li>\n<li>Click on <strong>Download File<\/strong> in the <em>Properties toolbar<\/em>.<\/li>\n<li>A discussion box will appear and you will select whether to open the file or save it. Click <strong>Save<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Then click <strong>OK<\/strong>. The file will be downloaded and stored on your computer.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>To edit a file in<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Click the name of the file.<\/li>\n<li>Click the <strong>Edit File<\/strong> link.<\/li>\n<li>Make the changes you wish to make.<\/li>\n<li>Click the <strong>Save<\/strong> button.<\/li>\n<li>Then close the window.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Congratulations! You now know how to use the legacy file manager.
