Here, we assume that you are logged into your cPanel account and you have accessed the Legacy File Manager. If you do not know how to do this, find out how to <a href=\"http:\/\/cloudhost.com.ng\/blog\/accessing-the-legacy-file-manager-on-cpanel\/\">here.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Now that you have been able to log into the Legacy File Manager, we will just go straight to introducing you to the basic features. It contains the following tools:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>Home<\/em> &#8211; this is used to navigate directly to the home directory.<\/li>\n<li><em>Go Up One Dir<\/em> &#8211; this is used to navigate to the parent folder (folder containing the presently opened file of folder).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Section 2:<\/h3>\n<p>This is the <strong>Legacy File Manager Toolbar<\/strong> and it is used to upload or create new files or folders.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Upload option (<a href=\"http:\/\/cloudhost.com.ng\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/upload_file.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-558\" src=\"http:\/\/cloudhost.com.ng\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/upload_file.png\" alt=\"upload_file\" width=\"20\" height=\"23\" \/><\/a>) &#8211; to upload files to the current directory.<\/li>\n<li>The Create New File option (<a href=\"http:\/\/cloudhost.com.ng\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/create_file1.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-559\" src=\"http:\/\/cloudhost.com.ng\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/create_file1.png\" alt=\"create_file1\" width=\"18\" height=\"21\" \/><\/a>) &#8211; to create a new file in the current directory with a user-specified extension.<\/li>\n<li>The Create New Folder option (<a href=\"http:\/\/cloudhost.com.ng\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/create_folder.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-560\" src=\"http:\/\/cloudhost.com.ng\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/create_folder.png\" alt=\"create_folder\" width=\"19\" height=\"22\" \/><\/a>) &#8211; to create a new folder in the current directory.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Section 3:<\/h3>\n<p>This is the <strong>Properties toolbar<\/strong> and it is used to\u00a0manage files and folders. This interface displays different options for files and folders.<\/p>\n<h4>Folder options<\/h4>\n<p>These options are displayed when you click on a folder.<a href=\"http:\/\/cloudhost.com.ng\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/Screenshot-154-1.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-563 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/cloudhost.com.ng\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/Screenshot-154-1.png\" alt=\"Screenshot (154)\" width=\"256\" height=\"158\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>Delete this folder and all files under i<\/em>t &#8211; this is used to delete the selected folder and all files and folders under it from the server.<\/li>\n<li><em>Change Permissions<\/em> &#8211; this is used to change the\u00a0<em>Read<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Write<\/em>, and\u00a0<em>Execute<\/em>\u00a0permissions for the selected file.<\/li>\n<li><em>Rename Folder<\/em> &#8211; this is used to rename the selected folder.<\/li>\n<li><em>Copy This Folder<\/em> &#8211; this is used to copy the selected folder to another directory.<\/li>\n<li><em>Move This Folder<\/em> &#8211; this is used to move the selected folder to another directory.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>File options<\/h4>\n<p>These options are displayed when you click on a file.<a href=\"http:\/\/cloudhost.com.ng\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/Screenshot-155.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-562 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/cloudhost.com.ng\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/Screenshot-155.png\" alt=\"Screenshot (155)\" width=\"256\" height=\"291\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>Show File<\/em> &#8211; this is used to open the selected file in a new window.<\/li>\n<li><em>Delete File<\/em> &#8211; this is used to delete the selected file from the server.<\/li>\n<li><em>Edit File with Code Editor<\/em> &#8211; this is used to open the selected file in a code editor.<\/li>\n<li><em>Edit File<\/em> &#8211; this is used to open the selected file in a text editor.<\/li>\n<li><em>Change Permission<\/em> &#8211; this is used to change the <em>Read<\/em>, <em>Write<\/em> and <em>Execute<\/em> permissions for the selected file.<\/li>\n<li><em>Rename File<\/em> &#8211; this is used to rename the selected file.<\/li>\n<li>Copy File &#8211; this is used to copy the selected file to another directory.<\/li>\n<li><em>Move File<\/em> &#8211; this is used to move the selected file into another directory.<\/li>\n<li><em>Download File<\/em> &#8211; this is used to download the selected file to your computer.<\/li>\n<li><em>URL<\/em> &#8211; this displays the selected file as it appears to visitors.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>And that is a simple presentation of the Legacy File Manager.
