<\/a><\/p>\nUser level filter controls how your incoming email is handled. It helps to ensure that you receive more mail and less spam. cPanel allows you to manage filters for each email account on your domain. This can be useful for discarding spam, redirecting mail or piping messages to a program.<\/p>\n
Adding a user-level filter<\/h3>\n\n- Log in to cPanel.<\/li>\n
- Click on User-Level Filter<\/strong> under Mails<\/em> section.

<\/a><\/li>\n- On the Manage Filters page, click Manage Filter<\/strong> next to the email account for which you wish to add a filter.

<\/a><\/li>\n- Click on Create a New Filter<\/strong>.

<\/a><\/li>\n- On the next page, fill in the name of the filter in the Filter Name<\/strong> text box.<\/li>\n
- In the first dropdown box under Rules<\/strong>, select one of the following options for the message characteristics:

<\/a>\n\n- From\u00a0<\/strong>– address from which the message was sent<\/li>\n
- Subject<\/strong> – this will filter by the subject line of the message<\/li>\n
- To<\/strong> – address to which the message was sent<\/li>\n
- Reply Address<\/strong> – address to which the reply will be sent<\/li>\n
- Body<\/strong> – content of the message<\/li>\n
- Any Header<\/strong> – a header of the message<\/li>\n
- Any recipient<\/strong> – a recipient of the message<\/li>\n
- Has not been previously delivered <\/strong>– affects messages still in queue for delivery<\/li>\n
- is an error message<\/strong> – affects error messages received from an auto-response system<\/li>\n
- Spam Status<\/strong> – the status SpamAssassin has been conferred on the message; it begins with either “Yes”\u00c2\u009d or “No.”\u00c2\u009d<\/li>\n
- Spam Bar<\/strong> – the content of the Spam Bar header that SpamAssassin has generated for this message. This header contains plus (+) signs to denote the likelihood that the message is spam; more plus signs means the message is more likely spam.<\/li>\n
- Spam Score <\/strong>– the overall spam score assigned to the message by SpamAssassin, expressed in digits.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
- In the next dropdown box, select an operator:

- begins with<\/strong> – begins with the string you define<\/li>\n
- ends with<\/strong> – ends with the string you define<\/li>\n
- does not begin<\/strong> – does not begin with the string you define<\/li>\n
- does not end with<\/strong> – does not end with the string you define<\/li>\n
- does not match<\/strong> – is not equal to the string you define<\/li>\n
- is above (#s only)<\/strong><\/span> – scores greater than the number you define will be subject to the action selected<\/li>\n
- is not above (#s only)<\/strong><\/span> – all scores equal to or less than the defined number will be subject to the action selected<\/li>\n
- is below (#s only)<\/strong><\/span> – all scores below the defined number will be subject to the action<\/li>\n
- is not below (#s only)<\/strong><\/span> – all scores greater than or equal to the specified number will be subject to the action.\u00a0The underlined options can only be used when the Spam Score option is selected.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
- In the text box below, enter the\u00a0enter the filter. You can use the “+” button to add more rules and the “-” button to remove rules.

- Redirect to email<\/strong> – redirects the message to another email address that you specify<\/li>\n
- Fail with message<\/strong> – discards the message and automatically returns a specified failure notice to the sender<\/li>\n
- Stop processing rules<\/strong> – skips all filter rules<\/li>\n
- Deliver to folder<\/strong> – deposits the message into a specified folder<\/li>\n
- Pipe to a program <\/strong>– sends the incoming message to a program you have specified<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
